Forgot to say about the angel wings...the three that I wrapped...well, one wrapping "fell off" (I think it had help, I found it by the pond!

) after 3 days, the wing was fine. So I took the other two off, thinking that if I needed to, I´d just wrap again...no problem since. They look lovely. This weekend just gone I noticed one of the 4 goslings was showing new wing feathers growing upwards, so I wrapped the wing. The other three are showing no sign. I don´t feel there´s any singular cause. Carbs to me doesn´t make sense as they get hardly any. Protein...well I´ve never actually seen my geese eat any frogs, fishes, etc, but my countless muscovy ducklings eat lots of bugs and beasties (protein) and they´ve never had angel wing. As for genetic, I don´t know. It doesn´t affect them all, and this latest gosling is only a cousin to the others. Do you know, the only thing I´m doing differently this year is giving them Brewers´Yeast!!!!!

LB, I feed one cup per goose daily.... not one cup for the whole flock.

Well that makes me right jammy (mean) then!

I figured it wasn´t the whole flock!!

just the Africans, but I couldn´t remember how many Africans you have...if it were 4 or so (being big) on one cup, that´s about what mine get.......

But you obviously have more than that.....so one cup each makes me definitely jammy.
I tried the 3-week-olds with the whole corn today, but they find it a bit big yet and were looking for the other stuff.

Ahhhhhh . So I had to distract the older ones and sneak some chick crumb to the tinies while feeding the brahma chicks. They were happy then.

Well i went and did it again...was driving along and saw some saddleback poms in a yard before i knew it i was pulling in the driveway asking about eggs. I have been promised some even though they are older geese and have always had their eggs thrown away. No clue as to how fertile they would be but a chance is a chance so im going to get some in February or March. There needs to be a support group for goose addicts lol "hello my name is 8 and im addicted to geese"

So I've not been on here since summer, but I thought I would ask my question again, now that there are some active southern hemisphere folks on this thread.

My babies (ducks and geese) get so excited when I refill their water that they run around in circles like a school of fish. My husband calls it "tunaing." The strange part is that they always go in a clockwise direction. Do birds south of the equator tuna in a counter-clockwise direction? Inquiring minds want to know.
