It could be the age of both of them being a factor. If you were close id let you have a couple goslings for them to raise. That temp should be right on for them. It was 80-90 degrees here for mine with 80% humidity or more most of the time. Maybe the fertility was low cause she laid so many eggs. Be anyones guess really.
That's is so sweet of you 8, I just hate that I might have to take all these eggs, but I won't till I have candled a few more times, I'll keep a very close eye on the one that's dark. I can tell that Sammy really wants some babies since he had some Muscovy ducklings to take care of last year. It's going to be very disappointing for all of us.

Poor Sammy, he seems like a very good gander. For his sake and yours i hope something developes from those eggs. Its frustrating letting them go broody and then not knowing what will happen and you can see their disappointment. Mildred got depressed when i wouldnt let her set i didnt trust her cause shes only a year old. Then i freaked out about Maggie going most of the day off the nest the last few days before these 7 hatched. I think you've got a good idea of candling until you know for sure. I dont have much experience comparing but with what ive done this year it looked like eggs in the incubator developed differently than those under the goose and the hen. Even Maggies eggs looked weird. I really hope thats the case for Sammy and Missy.

8 your pied gosling is going to be a beauty!!!! This will be fun to see this gosling grow up!

Thank you RuRu! He/she is a sweetheart too. Loves to be carried around but i dont baby it too much dont want bad manners/habits when older. A lot of people may look down on me for not raising purebreeds but just because they are mixed doesnt make them any less special to me. Besides if people didnt crossbreed, especially years ago there would only be one or two types. We might not have Cottonpatch, pilgrims, sebbies etc, if people didnt experiment with crossbreeding. That would have made a very boring goose world.
