That´s a bit similar to us here...my hubby is outdoors most of the time, my mum still lives in England, but she comes over each year and loves to see the geese. And especially the ducks. I bought the ducks for her. She loves the little chicks too, I always try to have some little fluffies here when she comes. She fell in love with one chick that we helped survive. She wanted me to keep it, but it grew into a big cock so it got moved on for breeding big fat eating chickens!I am the crazy bird lady actually crazy any animal lady, but mostly birds then horses. Used to be reversed but was almost crippled from an accident, anyways Hubby is into anything outdoors. My Mom likes watching the geese on the pond. Same here when it comes to the fuzzy babies though, everyone gets involved.
A nasty riding accident, you poor thing. Glad you´re recovered. I´ve fallen a few times, but never anything serious. I used to be into horses, I think they are so beautiful, but after 6 years of trying to overcome a very strong allergy to them, it only got worse and I had to stop as it was affecting my breathing! I still can´t go within smelling-distance of them! I used to breed rabbits and guinea-pigs, but was very allergic to them also, had to wear a surgical mask to deal with them, that was stupid, so stopped that too. I´m allergic to my 6 dogs, 5 cats, and BIRD FEATHERS TOO, but it´s not as bad.... I manage with it all being outdoors, which is something much easier to do here than in England. My neighbour has 5 horses, so I enjoy them from a distance. I can´t imagine being without these little critters, they´re such fun.
