I remember this photo. He looks like an Embden or Pilgrim, but Pilgrims tend to be good fathers, Definitely a gander, of course. Which one is his Mrs? The pied?

My embden goslings are almost as big as my muscovy hen now! I think I have 1 or 2 girls and 5 or 4 boys.

I use sharpies. Someone did a pseudo experiment where they covered the whole exterior of the egg with sharpie and incubated it. None of the sharpie leaked through. Well, none of the dye did anyway.

yeah thats what i have been using for years but when halfway through the incubation the marks fade away. maybe all try a colored pencil
