With new goslings, when do I give them a pan of water? When do I leave it in with them all day? How deep?
I plan on getting unmedicated chick feed and waterfowl feed and mixing it. Is that good?

Can I bed them on hay?
Do they huddle when they sleep?
How old to run around in the yard?
When can I transfer them to a pen?

I am waiting for the book, but getting the goslings on Wednesday, and want to be somewhat prepared.

At least it's almost 90 during the day here. The hot weather is early.

i love that one! You can see that white african babies have less yellow plumage then the white chinese! Its more orange

I was just tickled orange when I saw the beak was pink !

I give my goslings All-Purpose Crumble. And treats like greens / Cilantro is a big hit here
I put hay down (buts thats because my neighbor gives me bales for free. But Straw is fine, or a brick of shavings
Mine will nap in the sun during the day, alone or in a pile. But at night they spoon.
I let mine when the weather is hot run around during the day & bring them in during the day
YOU can tell if they are cold or fine in the first 1/2 hour. So watch & see if it to soon.
I give my goslings water knee deep, until they get older.
I really do not go by age, I go by size, and tolerance. Depending on where you get them, and how they are raised before you get them.
Like ~
1. I keep light on my babies at night, and then during the day keep light but open the windows to get a cool breeze.
2. Then I work them up to light at night & then no light with the windows shut,
3. Then light at night & no light & windows open.
4. After that no light at night, and no light with windows open during the day.
5. If they are fine I then let them run outside.
