Hello everyone.![]()
I am thinking of getting two female Pilgrim Geese and I need some designs and ideas for suitable housing. I plan on hatching them myself and raising them up so their home will have to be able to 'grow' with them.
I was thinking of having a Goose Tractor so they can have green pick 24/7 and water, but then a covered area to sleep in and be in when it's wet. I will let them free range with the chickens most days anyway where they will be able to get more water.
So any ideas?
Quote:Hello ClukClukluke, If you have the space, Here is an example of what I built. This one pictured is actually for my chickens but I used the exact same design for my Ducks & Geese. It's large enough that if for some reason you have to keep them penned up they will still have some room to roam around. This one pictured is 40' x 12'. There's 1/2" hardware cloth covering the bottom two feet to keep out crawling critters and 1" poultry wire covers the upper portion and roof to keep out flying problems. Now it can get a little pricey if you have to buy everything, but how much do you value your animals.
I hope this helps give you some ideas, good luck. KWS
Wow - that's fancy.... If I built something like that here the termites would have a feast! I wish I had the time and money for something similar though. My animals would love it.
