That would be just fine. However, since the bride's family pays for the wedding it will need to be something simple. I am on a fixed income afterall. Something in the spring, in the garden. CCBird (a splash Andalusian) can be Maid of Honor, Sting can give the bride away, 14 Cayuga bridesmaid, Norman (the lone crippled rooster) says he can serve as Best Man if Babe hasn't already chosen someone else. The Coleman Chronicle Democrat-Voice will want to cover it since it will be the event of the season.

I'm so confused with the two of them but I'm hoping it will just work out to be a pair I'm very new to geese I've only been raising them for nine months and before I know it Spring will be showing its true colors

and then I shall know what's been going on and what I've been making such a fuss about lol sorry if I'm confusing sometimes I've read a lot of books and stories and sometimes what I'm saying turns out to be a part of literature more of then what I meant

poult we are in the same goose boat. This is my first year with my geese and even though it has become obvious that my gander (Sting) is bonded with one of my females (Lydia) there is the whole issue of time and waiting. Our winter is just getting started here in West Texas (runs through March-April) so my concern is that if they do lay and hatch those little babies will be out in the cold or I will need to bring them inside and risk the wrath of their parents. Then I have the second female (Pauline) who is odd lady out so to speak. I am hoping to find her a gander, even a gosling to raise, that can become her special friend and she won't be so alone. When I take them out to free range Sting and Lydia stick together and chow down but poor Pauline just follows me around nibbling at grass and looking at me like she wants a friend.

Aww poor thing, So any decisions on which you'll go for? adult or gosling? I bet Pauline would love her a little boy goose to raise just the way she wants him.

All this talk of goose weddings has reminded me that tomorrow is our 41st anniversary. Good thing I remembered that!!!!! Guess I will have to find an excuse to go into town and do some shopping today.

I am hoping to find a little boy goose in the spring. There seems to be a real shortage of goose people here in West Texas though and it seems that Hill Country Poultry has shut down or at least their web site has. They sell/sold juvenile geese and were about 300 miles away so I can drive there and not deal with shipping stress. I put a rehoming posting saying that I was looking for a Toulouse gander here on BYC but I also said that I would pay if reasonable. That must have violated a rule because they removed the posting.

Babe as an indoor goose? That would involve an entirely new wardrobe I think.

Ok so I'm about to switch up the way I feed my flock I don't know what's wrong with me I've been raising birds for almost five years and I just realized I haven't been giving enough PROTEIN the last few months so I'm going to go get a 20-22% protein game bird crumble and some scratch my hens aren't laying so the extra protein won't be bad and my turkeys have been eating so much and thanks to chkoodles I think that's how you spell it told me I didn't have enough protein and i was like duh!!! And my geese need it too I'm sure but here's my question how much protein is too much? Ok and remember I'm mixing the scratch and crumble
