This may be long...
Pick them up and hold your hand flat like if you were going to slap someone. With fingers pointed up toward the tail press your hand palm first into the soft under belly near their anus. Feel for the pubic/pelvic bone it will feel like two finger tips together pointing back at your fingers which should touch you on the second bend in your fingers. Those bones flex. For a gander half the width of a finger will lay in the groove between those bones as if being craddled by them. For a young goose that has never laid an egg the finger will lay in between those bones comfortably. For a goose that has laid eggs 2 to 3 fingers will lay in between them comfortably. Just like a woman that has given birth those bones have spread. DO NOT try this on a gosling under 3 mos old, it wont work the bones arent big enough to be able to feel the groove yet and although im not certain and im cautious with my babies that young anyways, it may hurt them.
This HAS worked for mine and i know its not breed specific i have 4 breeds. I tested it on the ones i knew where goose and gander, and also on the ones i didnt know, those all turned out to be right too.
LoL now bring on the critics LoL
