We set 16 goose eggs last night around 7 o'clock. Counting today as day 1, we should start misting and cooling on Sunday (day 4). We should stop misting, cooling and turning on the 26th, which will be day 27.

Are my days correct? And, should we turn on the 26th or do we turn on the 26th and then not turn on the 27th?

Congrats on the pip! They can take up to 3 days to hatch after pipping, so it might not be as early as you think

Hang in there, and don't open that bator!

i have a question on this topic...

when incubating geese eggs do you just set them like a chicken egg and then stop 3 days before hatch day? or what is this listing and cooling talk?

please explain i just got geese so im pretty much clueless

I have just gotten four Pilgrim goslings and hope to raise some next year so I need the same info? Misting with water? What is the cooling?? thanks

Days 4 to lockdown cool eggs for 10- 15 minutes and mist with water... one time a day, and some people only do it every other day. You are misting because waterfowl leave their eggs for a few minutes to potty, eat, and have a quick dip in the lake and then go back to the nest a little wet... So eggs need to be wet down once a day and cooled at the same time from days 4-lockdown... some people only mist and do not cool so it is your preference...
Lockdown is just that... Just like with chickens you up the humidity, but higher with waterfowl, and do not open the bator at all and during this time cooling and turning is not needed...
