Days 4 to lockdown cool eggs for 10- 15 minutes and mist with water... one time a day, and some people only do it every other day. You are misting because waterfowl leave their eggs for a few minutes to potty, eat, and have a quick dip in the lake and then go back to the nest a little wet... So eggs need to be wet down once a day and cooled at the same time from days 4-lockdown... some people only mist and do not cool so it is your preference...
Lockdown is just that... Just like with chickens you up the humidity, but higher with waterfowl, and do not open the bator at all and during this time cooling and turning is not needed...
thank you. I will have to save this info as it will be some time before I have a flock of Pilgrims.
