Goose lovers – please help!!

Marty, those kind of drives are not for the faint of heart. But the views are great. Here are a couple pics from yesterday. The first is of "devil's kitchen". The 2nd is a view of Utah lake from near the summit.




Lydia, I love the blue ridge parkway. It is another one of the prettiest areas I have visited in both the winter and summer seasons.

Hey Marty, congrats on having grass and happy geese!!

No major updates here. My local post office is checking all possible flight patterns for shipping geese and I had hoped to have an answer this afternoon, but did not hear back. I would expect to know something tomorrow.

We also hope to set up a shipping box with bedding/food for total weight tomorrow, as well as weigh a few sample geese to have shipping costs figured out. Hubby has the day off so I will be pressing him to take new pics of the dewlaps, adult and juvenile.

Testing should be completed on Friday, and if so, 3 of the brown africans will be going down to the avian sanctuary this weekend. Richard, the owner, is keeping a gander for his solo african goose and helping me place the other two.

Otherwise, all are doing well on the farm.

By the way, I was looking over pics of the geese when I first got them here almost two months ago now. Here is a before/after shot of Gimpy. His completely torn up feathers are almost finished blowing out. I can't wait for those last long wing tip feathers on his right side to come out. I believe he will be a stunning bird when he grows up.

I am pretty surprised myself! His foot is improving every day too. By this time next month, I expect he will look and feel like a completely different bird!

Janet he looks SOOOO much better. Hard to believe its the same gander since he came from such a loving environment with proper diet and all. Just goes to show you, when they have food and medical care (when needed) they can thrive and recover. Sorry didnt call you back, my phone went wacko on me.
