Goose lovers – please help!!

Janet, as you know hubby adores his dewlaps and would be thrilled if I reduced the sebbie flock more to make room for more of the heavy weights. With that said, IF you come to decide to not keep the final grey pair (I know you have been back and forth) we will gladly give them a permanent home here and can have them shipped later in October with the adult buff pair. Let me know, either way is good for us. I will be listing more sebbies to reduce their over all numbers more, it doesnt break my heart to do this either. I have my favorites and have new bloodlines coming in for 2013.

To those who have adopted and are awaiting shipment: the costs of shipping will be $135 for juvenile pairs and $110 for single adults. Florida and California are both fluctuating between safe/unsafe temps for next week. As a result, I will not make final decisions about shipping on Monday until early Saturday.

), your temps are definitely safe for shipping next week. Hubby has tomorrow off work, so we will be sure to get the girls weighed and otherwise make sure they can both fit in one box and let you know final shipping costs.

Is it $135 per pair for the African juvenile pairs as well? Just want to make sure before I paypal

Iain, I'm looking forward to the trio. So is my mom. This could be problematic if i decide I like them. Of course, with them being Africans, and my aversion to loud and fussy geese, they'll be off to her in 14 days or less. LOL Still, fun to researve the right to fall in love.

I just couldn't bare the idea of such lovely geese, and such special ones, going to somebody who might land them in a tough position again. I have no trouble supporting geese, but I'm getting tired of building fences.

How deep does my pool need to be (min.) for geese to do that crazy dance o'love successfully?

Kiddie pools is all any of them need ever. Ponds are nice, but kiddie pools are all they need. Tall sturdy fences are a must for the taller geese (african/chinese) or they just reach over the top and grab their neighbors.

Is 4' high enough for them? Its the shortest I have here for fencing, unless I go buy more.

I thought the little 1' pools might be too small for them. They come in all kinds of heights I know. One of my neighbors has an 18"' hard pool I'd like to have. A little brick ramp inside and out... of course, it would be impossible to just turn over like all my little ones. Glad they'll work.

Celtic, your geese are lovely. I suppose I should lust leave well enough alone, with the 5 sebbies. Thats allready going to be more eggs than I'm going to have a practical use for. DH can only eat so much a day! Pickled goose eggs, anyone?
