Goose neck obstruction

I have a female african goose named Lizzy, shes 5.5 months old and on New Country Organics feed.

Tonight shes been shaking her head crazily and some cut up grass and saliva came out of her mouth. She keeps drinking water, but slings that out too. She's standing over the water bowl, making soft noises (not unusual noises). I'm worried she may have eaten some sawdust on one side of the yard from cutting wood. There's a small bulge on the lower side of her neck but it doesn't look unusual, from eating.

Will she pass this and should I worry? Any advice? TIA

Hopefully this has resolved. If not, try gently massaging the 'bulge' and see if you can get it to move. Good luck.
Hey there! She seems better this morning... did shake her head but not severely like yesterday. Her head is staying lower though, and her neck and head feathers seem partially fluffed out. We might try to massage it gently.

One day I ran after a goose who had grabbed a thin plastic wrapper and before I could rip it from her she swallowed most of it. She was fine. Then I had the young gander who decided to take on a strand of bail twine and had to pull it back out. He was fine. Sourland has good advice. If there is something to eat play with once it hits there mouth It must go down. Silly young geese.

How is she now?
Some strange things have occurred now with her, and it may or may not be related. Her neck is still half-mast and fluffed out... We think it was her that laid a very soft-shelled egg, and then a normal looking egg on the same day (quite unusual for a goose I thought, maybe she was egg-bound?)

She was in a trance laying on the good egg, but she's been acting kind of trancy for about a week now. This time it's severe. She's not eating and refuses food since yesterday. I took the egg and placed her in front of the water. She literally stood there for 12 hours at that water trough. I looked through the window several times last night. She's like a statue. She does drink, quite a bit actually. We put vitamin supplements for poultry in there as well as apple cider vinegar.

This morning when we went to let them out, she did walk out of the cage on her own, but she's not herself. She picks a water trough and just stands next to it. The only other thing she does is sleep occasionally, like normal. I was able to let a tiny bit of food in her by putting food in the water, which they usually love to rummage through to find tidbits. She's just not feeling it.

Any advice on how to break her out of this?

@Goosebaby @sourland may have better insight. sounds more like something else is going on. Is there anyway she could have gotten into a small metal part or something toxic.

We don't have anything toxic laying around, but it's possible she could have eaten something manmade. When we bought this house, we soon discovered the previous owners thought their backyard was a landfill 💀 even though it had been cleaned up before us, we are always finding small random crap everywhere and picking it up every time we see it.

first egg no shell is somewhat a normal thing especially if she laid a normal egg after., takes some of them a little time to get tweaked. you can feel her 2 sides under and behind her leg. If the right side and left side feel the same theirs probably no egg If the left side is a little more swollen that may be a egg developing. If she is pushing and pulling she is coating the egg with a shell. First eggs they dont always wait to coat the shell and just push it out since her body has already starting to develop the calcium shell it will drop another yolk.

But it dose sound like you have something else going on. @Miss Lydia
