@Miss Lydia Thanks! I personally never let my younger children around our birds unsurpervised as it is now. I’m concerned about birds that would be calm because I have so many children that I would need to feel like I can keep the situation under control. I can deal with animals that are temporarily more aggressive, but preferably I’d like birds my children can still interact with in a controlled manner.
@bluemerle Actually, I have been quite taken with the Pilgrim that Miss Lydia mentioned, but I think the Cotton Patch is also worth looking into. They’re a heritage breed that I’ve looked into, and they seem like they’d fit my situation. I’m asking around here before I make a firm decision though. Buying stock is expensive, and even though I have no problem filling my freezer with anyone who doesn’t work out, I have small children and other animals to think about too.
