Well, do the neighbors have chickens yet? Looks like their house would make a fantastic coop, and it's not even 7 stories tall

I thought that was the manual for the new framing hammer in your back pocket, not permits

:)seriously i didnt think it would be that tall and being a union carpenter i know that you know better. i mean something that tall would need footings then foundation work. here in the NW how you tie down to the foundation is important also.

;)you get the point right. i dont really care and even if the cuppulla needed to be craned in you have tall enough trees that a system of winches and pulleys guided with ropes would do the trick. have fun!

With the way his coop is built, and the height and footprint spread on it, he will be fine. The tallest portion of the building is directed within the center, with equal size kegs on each side which will balance it out.

He may want to tether it down somehow for a little insurance policy, but unless he get's some very high winds, then he doesn't have anything to worry about. It will be as safe as one of the trees standing in the back yard.

The fun part will come one day when it's time to move it. Hope he can call in some favors from his union buddies at that time, lol

Keep up the good work gopher!

This is exciting watching a copula being built! Will you put a lightening rod or wind directional on top?
