Goslings? Nope Ducks.

ho is so cute!!! ............... They do go from 0 to tons of feathers in like the week 6 or 7, my scovy had like ridiculous little wings and in the last week she has develop so much feathers that the wings look like.... well wings hahaha....

i don't think they wanted to fool you maybe the Mr just got confuse 'couse of the sign, i know some people call muscovys goose-ducks, so i wouldn't think they are cross, but who knows.
anyway if they are, both cross males are sterile and only the cross whit muscovy hen lay eggs but they are also sterile.

Maybe it's because I don't stress her out then

She has made sounds when I have tried to catch her for an inspection. For some reason she had a nose bleed, and I need to see what was going on. She did not like that at all.
Muscovies are most easily sexed by size difference at 8 weeks. I would say that is the best bet.

YOU don't have too.. my one 'scovie duck grabbed the poor little ducklet by the tail out came her loud quack

I also have one crazy duck, you get near her she honks like an old bike horn.. dusty is a temperamental one! By 5-6wks you will see a difference... my poor little girl looks like a call duck up against her brothers right now and their only 10wks.

It seems like they go from no feathers to tons in a matter of days. I notice a lot of feathers at 6 weeks. I'd put these guys closer to 5 weeks old now.
Here is my muscovy female at 8 weeks so you can compare

I guess I'll have to wait a couple more weeks and post some new pics here, so you guys with more experience will be able to tell me more about them. :)

Do males and females have different shape of head? i.e does one of them have a more round head on top than the other?

Head shape is hugely tricky one to use as a guide, girls do have a more feminine head but... honestly, it's mainly the size.. to give an idea when my most recent boys started becoming taller in the leg than their "mama" i knew uh-oh we're boys, no way can they be only a few weeks and already be larger than her.

I'll show you a pic, can you spot my only girl? That is the entire clutch of 9 hatched in mid-june, they were 8wks old in this picture.
