Goslings? Nope Ducks.

Well how different! I have some real chatty girls and then i have drakes but i only have 'scovies and quite a few (17) so it gets noisy, well as noisy as Muscovy get of coarse
My girl even hisses when the roosters tick her off. :p She is soooo quiet. I love that about her. She doesn't seem lonely at all, and hangs out with my other breeds of ducks :)

Muscovy hens can and will quack under stressful circumstances, but they don't converse in quacks like common ducks.
Don't bother watching for the tail curl. Muscovys don't have one.

:thumbsup

Maybe it's because I don't stress her out then :p She has made sounds when I have tried to catch her for an inspection. For some reason she had a nose bleed, and I need to see what was going on. She did not like that at all.

Muscovies are most easily sexed by size difference at 8 weeks. I would say that is the best bet.

There ya go! New video and pics! Can you tell their sex?

From what you've said so far I guess we've got two little boys but I still have hope that I might be wrong on this and that they are a couple.

I just noticed today that their facial skin is coming in!

What do you guys think?

Too early still, but I would lean more towards boys. How old are they?

We've had them for 4 weeks and they were about a week-10 days old when we got them. So they must be about 6 weeks old. Their feathers have also started to come in. I noticed it today on the brown one. :) The man who sold them to us gave them to us as a pair of m/f. The yellow one was almost half the size of the other when we brouht them home and look how big it has grown.

It seems like they go from no feathers to tons in a matter of days. I notice a lot of feathers at 6 weeks. I'd put these guys closer to 5 weeks old now. Here is my muscovy female at 8 weeks so you can compare :)

What a beauty! Her colour did get a bit lighter as she was growing, right?

I can't really compare, I'm a newbie to ducks... :)
