Goslings? Nope Ducks.

I can usually tell by 5wks if they are drakelets or ducklets.. sizing gives it away, voices will come later.. my little 10wk old ducklet has now got a little honk

Yet her brothers aren't really full on hissing yet.

Drakes outsize the ducks by a lot.. legs/feet overall body sizing..

No chickens, at least not yet. :p  We got these ducklings as pets. They are lovely and very sweet natured. I only hope that they don't grow to be drakes both them cause I read somewhere that 2 males might start fighting. How do I choose a female duckling if I have to get a third one? I don't trust the person who sold these to us anymore.
Drakes will only fight when there is a girl in the picture. Two boys with nothing to fight over will get along wonderfully!

Wait until you know for sure. By 6 weeks - 8 weeks you would see a size difference.

Voices aren't reliable for muscovies. For other ducks they are a really good indicator :)

I never heard a duck sound come out of my muscovy hen. She acted like a drake to a first timer like me :p

What if I post a couple of pics next week so you guys could see them and tell me your opinion?

They both seem to have approximately the same size at the moment. The yellow one is growing faster. It used to be almost half the size of the brown duckling and now it has grown almost a bit bigger than the other which seems to be growing a bit more slowly. What do you think?

I will subscribe so I can see the changes :) I could definitely see my muscovy was a girl when comparing her to the boys in her brood. She was much smaller @ 8 weeks.

My girl has bright blue eyes :love She is super sweet, and very very broody all the time. She hides her eggs like a pro!

Wow, I was possibly right, then abut them being Muscovies or mulards. Yep, Muscovies are different as they don't quack, but you should start to see a size difference soon. Mules will sometimes quack, but sometimes don't.

That is what i said? sizing is what gives it away voices come later. Your duck has never made a sound? do you have drakes? my girls make a lot of noises especially if the boys are making advances they don't want lol plus the girls trill, coo and various other vocals with one another.. they are pretty chatty.

No she makes some sounds, but nothing like a female duck of another breed. She mostly peeped. Only noise I ever noticed was her broody sounds. She is so quiet compared to my Khaki girls. I don't have a muscovy drake, or any other muscovy hens. She has plenty of other ducks to talk to though, but doesn't. :)
