Goslings of 2014 Hatch-a-long

The hatchery put green paint on the female goslings head. The males were painted orange.

This is a strange year, only one Scovy has gone broody. last year i kept taking her eggs till close to end of May, finally I quit with 9 in her nest and she went broody and never laid another egg till this year. but she laid 60 last year and I really hope she won't do that this year.

Sounds like she might!! Maybe she likes it well into spring to sit on eggs. Get ready for a few more, then!

Put an ad in the local classifieds to sell some of these eggs for hatching. Gotten alot of weird calls. The ad reads "fertile goose hatching eggs $3 each buy more than 6 $2 each" the calls im getting are from people thinking those eggs are already goslings like the goose is hatching the eggs this very minute.
One asked if i hatched goslings after finding out they were just eggs, i said yea and she said so if i bought more than six goslings they are $2 each...Nooooo i dont even sell my chicks for that lol

The 2nd gosling is also a buff... No it is spraddle leg and I have it taped already will keep it that way for a couple days and see how baby does. Usually in 24 to 48 hours it can then stand on the legs right.

Crazy people out there, i put an ad on craigs list last year goose eggs for decorating and got a spammer I reported him/her and took my add off. gave me the creeps.

People amazes me. One of them actually listened and is interested in goslings when these hatch at the end of the month.
