I miss having the babies in the house but I don't miss the smell! Here's my little gander. He is the smallest of the goslings:

They are Ayam Cemanis. The two roosters already look like they will be stunning. I got two pairs, so two cockerels and two pullets.

Aside from that bit of blood, is she acting normal? If so, you can stop worrying.

It sounds like the scab may have come off, which is fine. And as long as she wasn't shooting blood out of her belly like someone hit a main artery, then she'll be fine. A little bit of bleeding, like you might see from a normal cut, is definitely not life threatening.

When these guys first hatch, their main blood vessels are right there near the belly button. If it gets damaged somehow, you will see blood shooting out, way up into the air! When that happens, they die from simple blood loss. But as time goes by, their body shuts that "access" down and their skin begins to cover it up as well. It may be normal to see it get scratched, or even pecked at by another bird. But as long as you don't have that squirting blood, everything is okay.

Shooting blood=bad. Lol, well, that would be an obvious problem....

I am SOOOO relieved that we down have any blood floods. Thank you very much for reassuring me. :yesss:

As a nervous Nelly precaution, I put a towel on my sheets, and tucked them both in with me, her at my neck so wouldn't pick at it, and him just behind her. Surprisingly I slept.....pretty well considering.
Ya, I know.
She is back in the brooder now, and she is just as fine as ever. I suppose I should have known as I gave birth twice, lol. Just a new goose mom jitters reaction, panic first, think later.

Thank you again, for relieving me.
