Goslings of 2014 Hatch-a-long

Ok, that´s what I thought...so 4 chinese, 2 Africans.  It´ll be a pretty flock.
I have to admit, I was wondering about that.  What made you think they were both boys in the first place?
They can keep us guessing for ages.  you´ll know some time before next January!  ;)

When I had all 4 from the first batch, 3 were really loud, had some knob development, and put their bodies between me and the 4th gosling, who was a lot smaller, shy, didn't talk, and had no knob development at all. It seemed obvious at that time, now, not so much.

They will be prettier when I get some brown and pied Chinese goose hatching eggs from 8 next season!

You´ll be overrun with geese!

It will be worth it! And that is why I am limited to 2 males. 2 flocks during breeding season, they boys will have 3/4 females each. The extras will be sent to my sister's or the man I traded geese with. So I have population control somewhat in hand. (And I probably will come up with some excuse why I need more geese next year. They are so addictive!)

In a year and a half, I will also have AKC registered Siberian Husky pups. I am going to breed Phantom and Dawn when Phantom is old enough.
Cant remember if I showed pics of them here. If I did sorry for the repost.

Phantom a few months ago, he loves mud wrestling and is always filthy so it's hard to get a good pic.

On a really good note, my husband is letting me have a 14X8 barn looking storage building for the chickens. It needs a lot of work, cleaning out, cutting windows, sealing the bottom, etc. but that means the geese will get the 11X6 pen all to themselves as soon as the barn is ready for the chickens! Yay! That saves us a lot of money not having to build from scratch, but the barn is bigger than I need for the chickens, so I can set up a brooder in there too.

No babies of any kind to report about yet. I am picking up a hen duck tomorrow for Flop, my handicapped drake, so he can have a buddy finally. I have 3 new additions to the family also, a new Turken hen and two silkie roos, im going to raise showgirl chickens. Also have 3 more guineas coming.
The donk is getting closer, this morning her milk sack matched a dairy cows lol she is now being watched even closer, any closer and id have to move in with her lol i still think it will be a couple more weeks.

Can't wait for pics of the donkey baby!

Had a grey gosling hatch yesterday and very slow to recover from hatching so stayed in the incubator until totally dry and up walking. Had a white hatch this morning both are in a container now recovering from hatching. Pictures later.
