Goslings of 2014 Hatch-a-long

Well it looks like ive a new pred around -_-
Ive seen 2 carrion crows trying to snatch my babies! So i try and scare them off with a rock >:)

Thank you psue! I am going to just leave them be til I see an external pip then start biting my fingernails haha. When I held them in my hand I could feel so much movement and an almost pecking/clicking noise
Your Welcome.

I am so sorry for your loss, and baby boy's too! I like to cuddle mine, talk to them etc. I can see a mirror working, and wee wee wee-ing to him. I found a stuffed animal at goodwill, with not button eyes or any other loose things. Just wash it, and remove that stuff that a baby could pick off.
I am so lucky that Bonnie allows me to reach under her. I only peeked this morning but no candling.
Now for my good news, I had to help the duckling as there was no progress since last night. The duckling was fine, and the shell was already separated. I put it back in with the chicken to finish the hatch, but it sounded like it was getting trampled. So, I pulled it out again and it was almost completely done. So I let the hatch end in my hand, and I am happy to report a healthy Cayuga colored mutt duckling is warming up on my chest!

I am hoping it is a boy.
Congrads on the duckling!

Miracle, Hope, and Wonder have all started to bite me. But they don't really BITE, per se. They gnaw on my finger like it's supposed to split open somehow and give them juicy food inside. I've noticed they do the same type of thing when I give them a grape, and they use the side of their beak on it, like a dog gnawing on a bone.

I think I've gotten Hope to realize that my hand isn't food, because when she notices something IN my hand, she'll go straight for that. The other two haven't quite figured out that my hand is NOT part of the goodies I'm offering!

But everytime any of them do it, I just use that finger to grab on to their beak somehow, and hold it until they open it and try pulling it away. They don't like food that "bites" back (even though I'm simply holding on) so they let go pretty quick.

It's the first time Squishy has bitten me and this is his second breeding season.

Hahaha psue those crows are pure sneaky! Lurking for youngsters under 3 weeks of age :0!

And i gave my buff african pair my Toulouse/chineseXGreylag/embden gosling and i went close so it would see their babies and then the buff bit me and SMACKED ME!!!! Speaking of how rude that was putting a baby up for adoption and they bite -_- no more adoption babys for them any more this year -_-

So here are my latest two little girls (vent sexed). Hoping to get a guess as to possible breed combo. See my signature line for the geese I have for possible combos. In this pic, girl on left is 12 days old, the one on the right with the black stripe on top of her bill is 10 days old. Thanks! (left girl had some feathers stick to membrane, which are starting to grow back in now)

There are fields on the other side of the road, heathland then the sea. Thats about a mile stretch. In the opposite direction there is a field then a large lake where all the wild geese hang out so hopefully that is more appealing to them.
Yes, I reckon too. But they do tend to fly more when they´re just youngsters...then they settle down pretty well. If you were to be able to get a couple of fat gals, (toulouse dewlap, for instance) the boys would probably stay put no probs!

Seriously, though, I reckon you´ll be fine.
