Dear little chap. Will you geld him and keep him? ....How wicked, eh? Already talking about gelding him!

Yes i probably will geld him and keep him, since i plan on keeping his mother for the rest of her life, i dont want inbreeding. I plan on training him for harness work to pull a cart when he is older.
That sounds fun. Will you breed her again? Or are there already too many donkeys there? In England there are donkey sanctuaries.
Here, you rarely see them, and the males are valued for producing mules which fetch a lot of money.

I may breed her again but it will be awhile. I want her body to rest. Donkeys are somewhat hard to find in my state, people tend to want to hang onto them, they do not cost much but are still in demand, if you are lucky enough to see an ad for one for sale you also have to be lucky enough to be the first to call about it.

GOSLING FEVER!!!!

I get it!!!

They were due yesterday and last night I has four eggs with holes big enough to see they are girls, a couple others were externally pipped. One was soup, and when I cracked it open ( in a bag, over the garbage can) it looked like scrambled eggs, and didn't stink near as much as I thought it would. (Anyone know what's up with the scrambled eggs?)

This morning I got a girl....layed down with it tucked under my "wing" to warm her up. The new owner wants it human imprinted. My girls went out and found two more girls....now I have two relatively dry goslings and one still damp under my wing with a black duckling. I had my daughter take some pics that I will post soon....

They are adorable with wobbly heads and wee wee wee sounds, I am LOVING this.
My daughter feels bad for swiping all her babies. :(
