GOSLING FEVER!!!!

I get it!!!

They were due yesterday and last night I has four eggs with holes big enough to see they are girls, a couple others were externally pipped. One was soup, and when I cracked it open ( in a bag, over the garbage can) it looked like scrambled eggs, and didn't stink near as much as I thought it would. (Anyone know what's up with the scrambled eggs?)

This morning I got a girl....layed down with it tucked under my "wing" to warm her up. The new owner wants it human imprinted. My girls went out and found two more girls....now I have two relatively dry goslings and one still damp under my wing with a black duckling. I had my daughter take some pics that I will post soon....

They are adorable with wobbly heads and wee wee wee sounds, I am LOVING this.
My daughter feels bad for swiping all her babies.

Why couldn't she have kept one?

Thats good would be sad to think mama couldn't have at least 1 baby to raise.
Totally. So we have another girl, and one boy!!
There are still 5 that are all mid-hatch~pretty good for her first brood I think! My daughter thinks the rest may be females but I am hoping at least one is male, simply because I have another potential buyer and it sounds like they would be ideal to have a pair! They have a wildlife habitat and migrant birds but they want a pair that can stick around, so I offered ducklings too. They have chickens in a coop already. I will post a pic of the boy and a girl, to get opinions on the sex...pretty sure though.

Once you hatch goslings it's just a MUST every year

Current news here... this week's hatch is starting to ext pip. I set what is going to be my last hatch for this year last night. I turned everyone out this morning. Jean Luc and Squishy have had a couple rounds but nothing serious. Squishy is just reminding Jean Luc that he's top gander and the dewlaps are not.

Any more eggs will be custard but they are off schedule so they are about done anyway.

Well season has been a boom so far with selling. I sold my last two goslings yesterday along with Rain my last pied chinese i had kept from last year. Im down to 14 adults and 3 goslings, the lavender and the two paints.
Maggie is due to hatch in 2 days, im expecting pure tufted roman and/or tufted toulouse from her hatch.
Ethel is due to hatch next week May 25th hers are also pure Tufted roman and/or tufted toulouse, unless someone used her nest when she wasnt looking.
Then Mildred, my last hatch on June 2nd. Im not expecting many from her nest due to the fact that Rain and Hail kept sneaking into the coop and stealing her eggs which i would put back. Main reason why i sold Rain. If any hatch these will be all chinese, white, brown and pied. Shared nest.
I plan to pick out some from all nests to keep.
