Here are todays Colored eggs. Left to Right
Ethel, Mildred, Stormy(back to laying) and Rain who was the mystery layer but now there is another lol

Yea, i have been and probably will continue until i know that all my girls are laying. As of right now 5 out of 13 are laying. Also it helps me keep track of which ones belong to the ones im going to hatch goslings from. Those two(yellow and blue) will probably continue getting swabbed. I know i could seperate them to keep track but that didnt work last week they all quit when i tried it.

Haha, I can see this taking off...everyone on here with more than one goose to a gander, or mixed flocks, will be painting bottoms!!!!!

Sorry! I apply it the night before i expect them to lay, just a little on the end of my finger(with rubber glove cause it stains skin) swirl it around the vent as close to it as possible without getting it inside of course. Since the feathers are waterproof it beads up and sticks to the tips and dries. I also only give them a bucket to drink from during the night so no bathing until after eggs are laid. As the egg comes out the moisture wets the dye again. Afterwards they get their pool or turned loose on the pond and thats the only time it colors the egg. If i dont reapply it, it takes less than a week to fade away. I have a white chinese that i thought was laying, who i painted purple a day ago and shes all clean now. Sorry for the long reply

oh and the 2 eggs that i have for lockdown are 28 days old and one is wiggling!!!!
