Goslings of 2014 Hatch-a-long

   Brecons are a great breed, tough and good foragers, need grazing.  they´re from Wales, obviously.   Buff back is a buff-coloured saddleback, pretty.  Embden everyone knows, and sebastopol, fo course, that so many on here have.  sounds like an interesting mix of breeds there.  How exciting!  I do hope it´s a she. is it a big egg or smallish?

Ooh I missed this post first time round! Thanks for the info! As far as the size goes I don't have much experience of goose eggs and what might be considered big or small. Out of the 4 I was sent, there were 2 others of a similar size and 1 much bigger.

Hi Daisy Meadow. How are things today with the gozzies?

I finally opened the other two eggs this morning. Both dead in shell. The first one was positioned completely wrong, with the head in the middle of the whole mess, and the second just failed to hatch. I had thought that he was internally pipped as I saw movement on candling, but he didn't even get through the membrane.

Solitary geb is loving his mirror buddy that I put in for him yesterday when the turkeys left him. He is walking better and tottering less now. I have one goose egg scheduled to hatch tomorrow, so I'm hoping for a friend for him. If that goose also fails, there are multiple duck eggs in the same batch. He'll just be a duck for awhile.

Hey can i get some advice please? We don't seem to have made much progress in the last 4 hours other than knocking off the loose bits! I have everything ready incase I need to help her out but I really don't want to do it if I can avoid it.
She's moving and resting regularly and peeping away. What do you think I should do?

I float tested Bonnie's eggs, and they are were fine still ! I took 3 out so now she only has 2....and this morning Clyde was chest out bellowing when I came out to let the neighbors out of the coop/palace. (B&C are in their own area) Bonnie was in the kennel, burying her eggs...and acting all "nesty"!!! I am so excited!
