Goslings of 2014 Hatch-a-long

Cute eh? Moose does it only being bigger and looking more like a half fuzzy half feathered goose. He sounds more like, "peep peep honk peep"!

Hennypenny, how´re Elkie and the Moose doing?

Okay you experienced ladies and gents.. Sunday Missy was on the eggs all day, yesterday she was not, this morning she came out like always staid out a good while now she is on the nest

Scatter brained?

Beignet will tend to her nest when getting her clutch ready before sitting tight. She stays on them in the super cold weather, but otherwise is out and about in the day if the weather is decent. She does not stray too far away from nest location though. I expect any day now she will go full on broody.

Moosey is lonely outside on his own. The chickens don't like him because he pulls their tail feathers until they squawk. Fortunately we're doing lots of outsidey things so one of us is out there with him most of the time. But first chance he gets he is in the house like a rocket straight to the dog bowl!
"Elkie" :D is eating and drinking. That's it really! She's very different from Moose. Quite jumpy until you pick her up. A girl thing maybe?

Okay we've set a "date" for tomorrow for Miracle, Hope, and Wonder's first swim. The ducklings were put with the goslings so they'd stop leaving the water to join their chick friends when they went for a swim. Now their new friends are water fowl like them, so hopefully they don't all jump out!

They're is a 2x8 board floating in the little pool, and resting on a black iron patio chair to give them a way to get out. Since one half is held up, the other half dips down into the water a good bit instead of floating on top, and it makes a nice little cast-off ramp, so it's VERY easy for them to get out of the water. Yesterday one of the ducklings was already diving under and swimming across the pool underwater. He tried going under the ramp a few times, but he just floats too easily for the amount of power he gives to the dive, and bobbed back up halfway under, lol.

Once they get big enough to eat them, we'll probably get some minnows from the bait store and toss in there. It is VERY interesting to watch them jump into the pool and chase the minnows and actually catch them and eat them! That's probably one of my favorite parts of owning water fowl with a small pool!

You must have some really nice temps to be letting those Little's swim already. Jealous

Sounds like moose is quite a character. and that´s promising with elkie being so diffrent...hopeful! My male goslings are usually more forward than the girls i´ve found.

Stormy went broody on one egg yesterday evening, which was not what i wanted so i ran her off the nest today. Since i set 18 eggs in the bator yesterday, i took the egg she had and put it in the bator also cause i felt bad. So now there are 19 eggs in there lol and i already heard from DH "how did you...i mean where did you find your incubator?" I think the Lil bugger tried to hide them on me
