Well, let´s hope, MLyd. My view is it´s best to let her come off when she´s ready, as it´s good for her to walk around. But maybe let her see where you´re chucking the food, and the water is near-by, but not too near. Some of my geese stay practically glued to their nest and lose a lot of weight, but they don´t starve, then they eat like crazy once the babies are up and about. And another thing, many times my sitting geese get up off their nest after I´ve fed the others, so when they´re off I go and sneak some food to them on the sly. Mine often get off late afternoon or very early morning. Now that Missy is totally committed and OCD about her nest, she won't come off of it. Last 2 days at days end I have been going in and picking her up and carrying her outside so she'll eat. But she won't go all the way to the pool. This girl goes from one extreme to another. Should I keep taking her off or just leave her alone? I also candled 4 eggs yesterday 1 looks promising another not sure about and 2 clear as a bell. then the last 2 she laid just recent I didn't candle yet. I hope so much they can at least get 1 or 2 lil ones out of this. Poor Sam just walks around looking lost. lol
Today we had some errands to do in town and when we got home Missy was out so I got her some meal worms then she went and ate, I really thought if she didn't come out today I'd just leave her alone and see what tomorrow brings, I was so happy to see her out. I've been saving some dried meal worms for when she comes out for a special treat. she loves them Sam looks like me like I'm crazy when I offer them to him. He loves dried corn though.Well, let´s hope, MLyd. My view is it´s best to let her come off when she´s ready, as it´s good for her to walk around.
