Oh, how disappointing. Sorry to hear.  although we don´t want to lose any of them, it often seems to be the ones we least want to lose!!

Yes it does. Its weird also how you lose some at a few days and some at one month. Seems the same with chicks too. Nature weeding out the weak i guess.

I have 11 still with a painted tufted in the last hatch but that one was a chinese. There is always next year.

J do your grays wonder separately from the buffs?

Gorgeous!!!! The rescue birds separated themselves off by color, but the ones I kept and/or hatched and raised have all integrated as if they are color blind... both with my buff/grey dewlaps and my white/brown Africans.

My Little ones have eaten alot of greens today, lettuce, grass and different weeds. boy is it showing in their poop,I have been using pee pads and going through them like crazy.
When do ya'll start using shavings. I start with ducklings on week 2 but I wasn't sure if the goslings would be worse to try and eat them, these are the horse pine flakes. They have had a blast today, the weather was nice so they got to be outside alot with me, Missy and Sammy joined us 2X but they are kind of stand offish is that natural? Grandson asked what are you going to do if Missy and Sammy don't like them? Do you think that could happen?

It was so sweet today how the gosling interacted with the grandkids. They are the sweetest things. [the kids too]

I just keep cotton floor cloths for the ones I need to keep in for a bit. I flick off most of the poop, wash them out in a bucket, dry them and start again. I don´t use shavings, I worry about it too much, seeing they´re so inquisitive.
Just give it time, I´m sure the adults will come around, especially as they were both raised naturally. Just first-timers, perhaps. Just keep at it, every day if poss, they´ll come round, I´m sure.

I think I'll do that especially for night time, I have been getting up in the middle of the night and changing the pads because there is no place for them to lay it's so pooped up so quick.

Well, that´s the trade-off. Pop them straight under Missy when they arrive, and they view her as mom. You keep them for a bit, they view you as mom. well,, you know that anyway. Just keep taking them out there with the adults, they´ll get used to them. The younger, the better.
I had some tinies that hatched out indoors and it took a few days for the babies to accept their new moms, but then the weather was good, and I could just leave them out there in the pen with the goose, (no real threat of snakes to worry about) they soon learned, and the third evening I discovered they´d got themselves all tucked up in her feathers. Transition complete.
