Goslings of 2014 Hatch-a-long

Yep, been there, done that.... ;) Make the most of it! I only have one of mine at home now. The others are married and have their own lives to rush around in!
That's why it's best to have your kids when young so you can keep up with them. lol

Lol my schedule is brutal. Monday, Wednesday, Friday my oldest son goes to martial arts. Next week he is competing in world games his dojo is sponsoring. Wednesday Phantom goes to conformation classes, he is a show dog in training. I am aiming him for his first show at the end of the year, if all goes well. Thursday Cheyenne goes to obedience. Friday Phantom and Sasha goes to obedience and then agility in back to back classes. Saturday Dawn, Sasha, and Rascal go to agility then obedience in back to back classes. Since Dawn and Sasha are both now demo team dogs, they have to attend team training, which is scheduled for Fridays. My trainer and I both think Phantom will make the team sometime next year, when he matures a bit and settles down. Saturday, Sunday, Tuesday I take Fiona for walks by the river for exercise and weight loss. My kids go with me and rollerblade while I walk the fat dog, lol. Oh and both boys signed up for athletics.
Sounds like my life! I only have one son but we are as busy as you with homeschool, karate (both of us), running a business (massage & skincare), 6 dogs, my clients have signed me up for walking their dog since I am a dog person. I said "it's not my profession to be a pet sitter but I will do it" so now I cat sit for my neighbor who is a snow bird and I walk a dog 5 days a week. After the crazy schedule I have made for myself of doing more than I have time for in the day, I brought home 9 muscovies and one imprinted goose that needs 24 hr hour attention so she is now a inside pet along with the dogs! =) My life can get crazy busy and some days I feel like I am just hanging on while life is throwing me forward. I really enjoy my life. I am so happy that I have a tolerant and loving husband!! The agility training that you and your son are doing is awesome. The karate might seem like a lot, but it will help guide your son into the best person he can be. My son and I are headed towards our second degree black belts. It has totally changed our lives. I love that I got ducks (and a goose) because they help me slow down a bit. Watching them walk around and forage in our yard has helped me to stop and just enjoy the moment which is very hard for me.

My son is taking a Korean martial art called Hoi Jeon Moo Sool and Tae Kwon Do at the same time. The Hoi Jeon Moo Sool is having the world games at my sons dojo next weekend.

our school is an ATA Taekwondo school. We also learn combative skills as well as jiujitsu. I dont think it matter what kind of martial arts it is. It helps with focus, discipline, self respect and confidence, and keeps us in shape. The only reason we picked Taekwondo is because that is the best school in this area.

A question for those who have had gozzies, been a long time since I have over 7 yrs and Missy at 4 months didn't make alot of noise till she was much older. okay my lil Buff [girl] has started making a high pitched honk sounds like her voice is changing is this normal for goslings as they mature they are now 11 weeks old. Makes us worry she may be a he and if so that would mean I have 3 ganders to 1 goose. Babe the Toulouse still sounds the same and still is making his little baby noises when out grazing too. Toots the Buff is much smaller than Babe still but Buffs are a smaller breed. They can sure make ya nuts trying to figure this all out. I'll get some new pics this week towards their 12th week birthday and maybe flockman can weigh in too. and where's serv he should be back from his trip.

You may have been the one that told me this , but someone told me that boys make a high pitch honks and girls make a lower honks. Forest is at 11 weeks and three weeks ago her voice started changing. she still makes all the cute baby sounds and then when she gets excited she honks like a donkey . sometimes her voice breaks and she makes this fluttering honking noise. I agree it is hard to tell the sex. especially with a "special" goose. she is getting very light which makes me wonder if she isnt going to end up being a gander with a lot of gray. i really dont care what she is . but i am hoping for a girl, i think you are right with it being hard on her leg if she is a boy with mating. trying to figure out the sex make ya kind of crazy.

Question: when they are adults, will they lose the pretty talking sounds that they make as babies? I will upload a video and tag you so you know what sounds i mean.

Off topic, but my friend and I were talking about Forest and he said " ya know andrea, you didnt have to get all these animals just to play Duck Duck Goose". It was cute the way he said it, so i am going to get the ducks to walk in a line outside and at the end of the line put Forest.... or maybe a circle . then i am going to edit it so it says "duck duck goose" and make it my avatar! this pic was taken this weekend. see how light Forest is getting.

I can´t say I´ve noticed my females making high noises, but then my females make more chatter noise than my males, which seems to be different to others people´s goslings.

Maybe babe´s a female? The promising bit is, they´re not making the same noises.

Looking forward to more pics... try to get the full goose showing a good full profile, head-to-toe.

Forest is such a pretty goose, I guess we'll know soon enough what sex they are. just hard to wait. She does look like her color is lightening up.
