Grey goose is Buff/Toulouse. and yes same goose.

i'm confused about the mixed breed geese. will the gray goose end up having that ?? hump ?? underneath its beak like the toulouse geese get? or can you/(anyone) not tell what characteristics the mixed geese will get from each parent??

I thought I had read somewhere that when certain duck breeds are mixed, the offspring will be steril. Is that true with geese?

I am very happy with my buff African goslings

The male buff African gosling is a lot bigger then the Brown African gosling

And i have never seen young geese fight until yesterday when i put my African gosling with the main flock and Chip and 8 and all the crosses i hatched before them started attacking them and the African breed is nice and gentle but boy did they defend eachother! They won and we're very proud haha and now chips gang is jealous of the Africans talking to me

is that part of introducing them? are you supposed to let them "fight" it out?

The magpie is a bird that isn´t really a bird of prey, but it does raid birds´´ nests for eggs and chicks, and will have a go at other things, too.
There are various types of Magpie, so this one may not be exactly the same as Utah´s.
There´s also a magpie goose. Now you can see why the duck and the goose have the name magpie.

My gosling won't have the bump on it bill since it has neither African or Chinese in it. domesticated geese can mate with each other and produce off spring. Only Muscovy's mating with Mallard derived breeds produce sterile off spring not sure if same applies with Wild geese and domesticated.

anderacroyle goslings when above 4 months love to be boss to others especially other goslings so when you introduce them to the others they want to be the boss too(like geese themselves) and they will be aggressive towards other goslings and will fight once their wings are fully grown.
But my point is they will now be raised with one another but stay separated and since they are not raised together :/
I was there when i put them with the main flock and straight away the first big gender they saw they charged but he was a lot bigger then them so they got scared
But when my other flock of goslings went over to talk to me,they saw the other gosling and then there was two little flocks shouting at eachother (i found it funny) and then the boss of both flocks started to fight and i was like Wt*! They fought like normal geese would! but less aggressive towards and i was breaking them up but then off they went again! So i let them fight it off (which is the best case if you are making sure everything is going good) And after 30 seconds the African gosling won and is now boss of his own flock and the others flock even tho he only hangs around with his own flock.

Another tip: is that when ganders from different family's raised in the same year will fight a lot more with eachother i then with ganders that are older or younger
So it is always bad to have a lot of ganders that are born in the same year.
Unless you will have it under control.

serv look at Andera's goose Forrest and see if you can tell male or female.

Did people notice that in Andera's goslings face there is a bit of buff colouration.
I could be wrong but it looks buffish colour
