Remember the member who was from Scotland she hatched out one long gosling back in the spring then got more eggs and hatched out only one from that hatch? I wonder what happened to her? I'd love for folks to come back and show us pics of their this year babies.

Thanks, guys! I am super happy with the new boy. While the Taganrog comes in a few different colors, Chloe and her new mate are called "yellow taganrogs", which is my personal favorite.

LB, as for the widowed gander, he does belong to a small group within the large group and always has company. So I'm not overly stressed about forcing him to pair up with a goose. It is interesting to watch the dynamics among the flock. They definitely have strong personalities about who they want to be with.

I love watching mine. èople who don´t have geese just can´t understand what I find so fascinating about keeping geese. Our house is up the hill from the little valley where the marsh and geese are, and my dh and son are quite used to me saying "hang on a minute" when I´m supposed to be getting their lunch, and I disappear off to the bog to see who´s in a certain nest, who´s pairing off with whom, who´s doing....... etc. They´re quite used to it... I come back half-an-hour later and one or the other has taken over and it´s all ready on the table.

Each year that I have geese, I learn more about them.
