Aww =)There are still 8 of us. We had our first outing into the big field this a.m. Boy was it fun. Our human was all nervous but watchful and almost as good a guard-human as our dad.We are sure having a lot of fun in the great big world. There is so much to explore and you can eat the green stuff you walk on. Life is turning out to be pretty nice.
Actually that is Pauline and Lydia (who has decided enough if enough with sitting on the nest). Sting is standing very tall and upright to the left out of the picture. I think they have decided that 8 is a hand full (wing full?) and plenty for the three of them. So that make us with a total of 10 geese ..... for now!

You should see me...worried human grandparent that I am. So far today there has been a crow fly by that showed way too much interest in the little ones. Twice now they have managed to get through the fence into the chickens and duck runs. I am learning though that all I have to do is move in their direction and Sting (the gander) sounds an alarm and they turn and run right back to him. I will be glad though, in a week, when they are too big to fit through that fence.I chuckled in empathy when I read the bit about being a nervous human. My head was spinning around so much watching out for predators, it could have been a scene straight from The Exorcist, lolThey are a beautiful family! How happy you must be.

Same here. I have told myself that I am done buying hatching eggs for the year - let's see if that works out.
