Something seems to be stuck on my Black Copper Maran chick that just hatched. It looks like an umbilical cord. It's also attached to the egg (the cord) will it get free? Thanks

That's a fairly common occurance. It might break free. Don't open the 'bator till the hatch is done. If its still there when you are ready to take the chicks out be ready with a pair of sissors to snip it. Don't try to pull it off.

He'll be fine. A few of mine were still attached to the membrane and at most it took and hour or two for them to get free. [IMG]
