I did candle it, that was how I found it. I was checking their air cells and then I saw this black egg. I haven't seen any movement but it's in the incubator and all I can do is hope for the best

Embryos that are close to term generate enough heat to carry them through a short-term outage.

Now the question is what is considered short-term outage! I sure hope it makes it for you!!!

I had the same thing recently with duck eggs I got from ovabid. 4 showed signs of development when I candled. Within a couple of days I had a terrible stink in my bator and I ended up tossing all four.

I can't believe it!!! I candled the egg today and it moved

The whole egg is black so I'm not sure when to stop turning it, but the lady I got the eggs from said the eggs under her broody have already hatched, so maybe this one is just a late bloomer. I still can't believe it made it! Keep your fingers crossed
