We got the call on Tuesday that our Chickens would be arriving around 8:30 a.m. I kept my girls out of school for the morning to have the experience of getting chickens. We never had them before and have no experience, just from reading books and this site.
Wednesday morning we got up and drove over and there were our chickens in a crate on the floor. We loaded them up and brought them into the coop and opened the crate to let them come out on their own, except they were taking too long and the girls had to get to school and me to work. So I started gently taking them out and they all huddled in the corner.
when I came home and went to check on them, I noted there were only 11. I ordered 12. I counted probably 10 times. So they are going to replace the chicken, but not till the next delivery, which is July, I will probably order 6 or 7 more anyway.
So they are said to be 15 weeks, and now we sit and wait for the egg laying. I have read anywhere from 16 to 22 weeks for this breed (RSL)
