Got My FIRST eggs today!!

How is your RIR Roo? I have heard they can be quite moody Roo's, and even aggressive at times? Does that apply to your guy?

He seems to be pretty calm. I go in with all of them and he just walks around and comes to me and just stands there waiting on a treat or grass lol

My ladies were born on June 1, but so far no eggs!

Congrats on your first eggs - they are GORGEOUS and very large for first attempts too! I have BRs and my girls lay from dark brown like your one
egg all the way through the brown spectrum to a few who lay creamy colored with a matte sheen which is my favorite. Never had RIRs.

I've only had chickens now for three years and I can tell you that IT NEVER GETS OLD FINDING THOSE EGGS EVERY DAY SO ENJOY.

I also couldn't wait to incubate and hatch out my own eggs and have loved that as well as raising them and selling them locally. Can we say 'chicken
addict'?

Ive been getting 2 eggs each day but I think I will be getting 3 now. One of the females looks totally different and laid an egg today! Im hoping that makes 3 out of the 9 girls that are laying now. The others stuff look a bit pale in the faces.

Whoo hoo !!!!!!

I got my first egg today too !!! Still warm!!! Went out to scoop the poop from under the roost ( we have sand in the coop) and - gasp- finally we have an egg!!!! Not sure

who laid it but it is about time!!! Hubby was calling them our welfare chickens just this morning! Someone must have heard him because we have an egg!!!!

the girls are now 28 weeks - we have 1 each Golden Wyandotte, Salmon Faverelle, Australorp,Cinnamon Queen, and Plymouth Barred Rock. Have no idea who laid this one ( oops - a New Hampshire Red too )
though Would post a pic but sadly am not good at doing that and hubby isn't here

But it's pretty Oval, smallish and a lovely tan color......
