Got my first Pheasant egg of the season today.....

Walked out to do a check on the birds and noticed my female Silver in a freshly dug hole up aginst the pen door. She was panting and her tail was straight up on the door, lol..... Poor girl. Then out popped a pretty pinkish egg..... Fist time I've seen them actually in the process of laying also....

Very cool! Are you gonna see if she sets or are ya incubating after shes done?

Hmmm..... I may give the egg back to her when she lays another to see if she wants to set them.... I hadn't thought about it as I was excited to see her lay it... Lol. I have two cabinet incubators and I've promised hubby not to plug them in until we sell our other house..... BUT..... Silkies don't count.... Lol
