yes new chicks my hens are hatching machines but they dont take care of the chicks so I have to brood them after. If these 2 hatch they will be 102 and 103 of the season.
As long as you make sure their food water and temp are good before you go then you should be fine leaving them all day.
wow that is an active chicken lol. I will check the food water and the heat before I go to work and swing in at lunch time.
I didnt see a thermom when I was there but They have to have them, I have all these questions and worries about them, but I know that millions of others have survied through this and we will too, I am very glad to have found this forum. It is amazing how many new posts this site gets inthe matter of a few hours.
Girls the babies will be fine alone for that short of a time. I worked 5 am to 2 pm 5 days a week and I raised 10 2 day old chicks outside in a chick n hutch in the very cool early spring here in Arkansas. They are now almost 9 weeks old and terrific and healthy. They all did just fine every day in fact much better then I did as I worried myself crazy about them. Just make sure they have food and water and I am sure they will be fine during the day.
well, did you get yours?? currently the chicks Im getting are from broodies that dont want to take care of them, so thats been my job and since they hatch one a day its far less convenient then using the bator and having them all the same age.
I did!!!! They are so cute, Rhoda and Shelly Cooper! Now I need to get to work on that coop. They have very different presonalities already Rhoda is bigger and bossy Shelly is a wee bit smaller and a bit quiet. Rhoda has a cross on her head it is pretty cool looking.
yes she hatched out the last 5 eggs she had under her yesterday. I left them with her to see if she will take care of them. I really hope she does since I'm at work .......... My son will be home in about an hour from school I will get him to check on them... Congrats on your chicks, cute names.
