Got this incubator for free

I know some that have great luck with these and then there are some that dont have any luck with them. I guess its all in the person. I hatch with my big ol red wood bator and use the foam bators as my hatchers now, mine work great for that.

I got one like it at the poultry auction last month. hmmm same stains and everything. LOL

I looked all over mine and didn't see the make until last weekend. It's an older LG. I have the hardware for the turner in mine, but no racks. Just haven't bothered yet to look into them and how to put them on. Then again my main concern is getting it cleaned up first.

Have fun with that thing! Maybe you need to join us on Mahonri's New Years Hatch!

Come on, it's be fun

Thank You Very Much! That is exactly what I needed. As soon as I get the brooding chics out of my spare bedroom I will be ready to set the incubator up and have my small brooder in there also for after they hatch.

BYC Rocks!

a few words of advice with your new find, bleach ( mixed 9 parts water to 1 part bleach) to clean, and clean it very very well. also, keep a roll of masking tape close by to seal any cracks in the lid/bottom part, and to make the air holes larger/smaller, also, invest in a thermomter/hydrometer that has a sensor that goes inside the incubator and a cable that is thin and can squeeze between the top and bottom with a digital readout on the end. mine is made by zoo med and is for reptiles purchased at petsmart. good luck

Thanks Flip Flop. I was looking for a different thermometer and hydometer. I will go to Petsmart and pick one up. I am also going to make my own water wiggler with an egg shell and hairgel like I saw here on BYC.
