GQF incubator and hatcher...question

I am gonna have to do some more research as how to set the thermostat. They got up to 70% while turned on the guys house. Is all the info at the GQF site or is there more to find out and from where...thanks again

I have 6 of them , from 800 to the 1500. You may get the info from their site. Not that hard to set. just raise one up high , set one at 100.5 , after that set the other one to 99.5. should have a light so you know when the heating unit is on.

When cleaning, should I just srub clean then spray lightly with a bleach solution and wipe dry. that is what I did with my other plastic incubator. This is the way to go...right?

You can. I use Oxine to clean mine. Much safer to clean with and you don't have rinse it to make sure you get it out, like you do with bleach. You can also sanitize you eggs with the Oxine before you put them in the bator.

Do you just get Oxine at the feed store or where? I see in post people talk about it for cleaning their coop. I have never used it...thanks

I ordered mine from eggcartons.com. It is around $30 or so and it was here the day after I ordered it. It comes in gallon size. Not sure if you can get it local to where you are or not, I know I can't. Just DO NOT get the activating crystals. You don't need them and if you use them, you have to use a NIOSH respirator.

great question...I have the metal trays as well

It should be. I don't see why it wouldn't be, when it "degrades" to table salt. We use it in our bator on all the metal surfaces and haven't had a problem. It is also safe to use on wood, like in your coop, because you don't have to worry about leaving a bleach residue.
