You can cut part of the top and bottom of a door... unless it is a Hollow one. I tried that not knowing hahah.

I hear you on the humidity ! KILLER ! HATE IT. Sleep in and it is more Humid in the AM then in the PM (or at least it is up here).

Looks great !

Thanks. It's actually a screen door that I'm thinking of adapting. The hollow door that used to be there is long gone with a steel door that meets code. All this house had was hollow doors except the front and side outside doors.

Sleeping in for me is 6 or 7 am. I'm up @ 4 on work days. I don't remember humidity patterns from your area, I used to live in Acton. Its more humid here most mornings as well but bothers one more as the heat goes up during the day.

It's pouring down rain at the moment, so spending a bit of time on the computer. Just what we don't need is more rain on our already saturated ground. The water is simply pooling on top of it. Progress may or may not happen today as more rain is predicted later in the day with a break in the middle.

:( bummer on the rain.
Yes Acton is not too far from here, I used to work at Emerson Hospital in Concord. Bedford is on the other side of Concord.
I can't do Humid at all, I think it may be part of the slight Asthma I have and it makes me sweat the second I walk out the door.
Shoot, picking up Poop this morning and I was drippy .

What will you do with the screen door when the cold comes? Is there another door you have?

The screen door is for the run entrance and will be covered with hardware cloth not screen. I have 2 solid doors ready to hang on the coop. One a clean out door on the north side, the other an access door on the south side under protection of the roofed run for regular maint. and for moving food and water inside when needed due to weather.

It was crazy expensive in that area when I left the East coast in 1978. We moved to NH in 1976 because Acton was getting so expensive when the woman who owned the big old neat house we were renting an apartment in sold it to some lawyers who turned it into a law office-- 34 School St across from the train station. Odd that I remember that address.

hey been fighting with myself about the new coop and nest boxes use tubs with the front cut out but none here to snitch already did for main coop so he suggested we changed out the water buckets out yesterday in the main coop had then screwed into upright 4 x 4 about sixteen inches each they started swaying back have them on cinder blocks in the new coop buying tubs at even wally world they want upwards of 15 for bigger ones BF suggested buckets from main coop we took out these are all from home depot 5 gallon

I think I am going to do an appox 24 x12 nest box which hang off the side with an access lid. I have the nest box hold cut, planning on building the box using scraps so haven't started it yet.

I am only setting three buckets as they have the bump as we call it separated into two boxes they are not into laying yet but have the things set now
