Gramcracker's coop.

I am only setting three buckets as they have the bump as we call it separated into two boxes they are not into laying yet but have the things set now

MIne have a while to go to laying so I can block off the hole until I get the nest box completed.

I will have to be on the bucket hunt sometime as well as I want to eventually do the horizontal nipple waterer.
Will start out with the inverted plastic type as I need one anyway to pop inside the coop when weather dictates the to be locked up during the day.

The weather again will be hot and humid with all the rain yesterday, at least a couple more inches. Lots of ice water. It feels like a tropical jungle. Yesterday was lost as I was feeling crappy so a good day for storms rolling in one after another. Plan this morning is to get the roof framing tipped up against the side of the coop and slide it into place once I get the rafters secured in their holders. Pray that it fits.

You are making great progress. I must get my electric fencing done on the garden before the critters eat all of it. Got some great deals on Oops paint. Husband thinks we have enough:lau

I had to fence most of my raised beds because my dogs kept stealing all the veggies. I'd catch them now and then. I'm hoping I don't have to electrify my coop as I have no power outside.

Awesome that you found bargains on oops paint. I've looked for oops paint but didn't find any exterior. So bought some on a good sale and am using a leftovers from other projects for primer.

My Dane used to eat everything in the garden, even the FLOWERS !

I get a TON of stuff off Craigs List. You can get Free things and cheaper priced things.
I like to reuse as much as I can.
Actually today I just listed for free the round short posts I had around my Koi pond and someone will be taking them tomorrow :) Win WIn

My pups steal the tomatoes, peppers, green beans graze on the lettuce etc. They are nuts.

That's awesome! re: Craig's list. I've been leery of it due to being a single woman and there have been lots of warnings here in the metro in the past couple years of only meeting people in very public places due to incidents. I did find the farmer I buy straw from on Craig's list.

I am single woman too ;) I do NOT give out my phone, if it is a free item it has to be left out by the street or I will not get it.
Course most of the time I take my HUGE F-350 Diesel pick up and that is enough to scare the pants of anyone. Along with my Pixie haircut :lau Very butch looking.

I usually go for Free stuff because I am cheap.

Anything else needs to be in a public place. I sold my counter-top dishwasher at the local grocery store ;)

LOL Have a Kia SUV big truck wouldn't fit in my garage. I'm pretty tough for 68 but wouldn't make anyone nervous..

This is my high intensity workout for this am. YAY!! The frame is on top of the coop!!! Taking a break before I straighten it out and anchor it down. Not a perfect fit but the chickens won't care. Finishing it and some tall and climbing plants next year and it will hide the crooked places. :celebrate:wee:woot

OK so the saga goes on. The roof framing is a little smaller than the actual top of the coop/run framing but not unworkable. Just a little adapting needed. UGG. Sometimes not having any experience leads to being able to think outside the box a bit for solutions. It can also create those problems. :th

Also the brackets I bought won't work so will need different ones. I've stared at them enough in the store I know there are some that will work. Probably tomorrow is a trip to Menards for the roofing material so working on the list for everything else needed to finish this endeavor.

So now off to re-store to see if they have hinges or anything else that would work.

IMG_0528 (2).JPG The top view from my kitchen window. Found some metal things I could use to anchor the roof frame and they are installed, hinges (need screws tomorrow) and an old wood frame window I can adapt for the north window. So a good trip to re-store (habitat for humanity store).
