Grammar and spelling are a thing of the past!!!!

I don't text at all. For no reason. Don't even check my text messages.
I'm not even big on checking my e-mail. Someone needs to talk to me,
they better call.

Real close to a completely different subject, but I'm in favor of public
education. But I believe the students, their parents, and yes, even the
school system itself needs to be held accountable.

What irks me more than that? When my fingers type one word, and I'm thinking of another OR when my fingers add suffixes I don't want. - and the endless editing! Oi vey! (I look at some of my mistakes in this forum or elsewhere, and I force myself to leave them forcing myself to see them and be irked by them as self-inflicted punishment for making them in the first place.)

What irks me even more than that? When other posters don't thank me for pointing out all of their flaws.

Despite all the mistakes I make, I know better; so watch out! I may engage in hypocritical grammatical warfare: Pick on you for your mistakes and leave my own to suffer you (and me).

Going "Latin" isn't going to scare us, KlaHa....just as long as you don't go postal.

I have cancelled both of our towns' newspapers because of this. Every single article is full of spelling mistakes, they can't even get names right. What is worse is that I know they have spell check and they still do not use it, and even if they do, they obviously do not proof read their articles. I am so tempted to go out buy a dictionary and send it to them with a note that reads "maybe this will help you with all the spelling mistakes in your Newspaper."

You know what irritates me the worst? When i hear people actually SAY LOL, when having a conversation!!
Thanks to my 11 year old sister for this one, Seriously kids?!?! What are they teaching you these days?
They expect an 11 year old to know algebra and what pi is in 5 grade, yet they still refuse to teach them how to spell and use words?

Sounds a little OCD to me. I don't really care this site is not a grammer/English test or class, neither is face book. Just because someone is not politically correct everytime they type something does not mean they don't know how to do it correctly. It just may be easier to do it the way they want to.

I find this site and facebook to be laid back, just write a quick response and on to the next.

ETA: Honestly I have way more important things to worry about.

I will say again that I understand that some people just suck at spelling and grammar and that's okay (I think) but don't pass it on to the next generation!! Paragraph structure is important. I too will not read a post that is a page long and all in one paragraph. The worst part is the ones that the sentences just run into each other with no periods.

I don't want to mislead anyone and have them think we are picking on you. If you just don't get spelling and grammar watch out because KlaHa will be on you and giving you one of these

@ Spookwriter - I too like the feel of an actual book in my hands. I have an EReader and use it a lot but still read a lot of actual paper books. To Kill a Mockingbird is my absolute favorite and I have a copy that I have had for years and reread it every now and again. Never tire of it.

@ KlaHa - My fingers and brain regularly disconnect or my brain doesn't keep up with my fingers or something like that! Irks me to no end. I cannot leave a mistake on a post if I see it. I would probably lose sleep over it.

Also I text but slower than most because I am constantly backspacing to correct mistakes. I on occasion when in a hurry have been known to use some abbreviations but only a few. My new phone has spell check and automatically corrects words for you which is good and bad!!
