Granddaughters quilt is done....(pics)

We are expecting our first grandaughter in late May. Her name will be Ava Mae.

I wanted to make a quilt for her, I just finished it minutes ago.

Truly, that is THE most beautiful quilt I have ever seen. Beats store bought any day of the week!!!! Love the colors and design. You can tell the love in each stitch.

My grandmother died in 1982. A few years ago, my aunts were going through some old trunks and found an old quilt made from their (and my mother's) childhood dresses. In order to preserve those wonderful memories, they decided to cut the quilt up and made teddy bears for each of their granddaughters.

Our precious bear lives in my daughter's room....he is filled with stories about each piece of cloth..and the memories of my grandmother will live on....

Probably the most treasured thing I own...I hope your granddaughter finds an eternal attachment to your quilt as well!
