Personally I think it has turned into a "feeding frenzy" like the "child molesters working/running daycares a number of years back. One accquization and someone's life/reputation is ruined for life. Guilt or innocence doesn't seem to matter. And if it happened years and years AGO get the FARK over it and move on with your life.

I think that can happen, but this has been a long time coming. (remember Slick Willy?) There are some real jerks out there, and when a jerk has power in his position and uses it to get his way, the women can't fight back because everyone around bows down to the person in power to save their own jobs. And if she does complain, she suddenly gets let go from the job because her work is "not up to standard." I've seen men like this in action. Everyone just excuses it away... oh, he's just like that, you know how men are. wink wink. Well, real men are NOT like that. Jerks are like that. They always pick on the women who are easily intimidated and won't speak up. Same way men who physically abuse women always pick the timid ones. Never someone like me, with my big mouth and cast iron skillet. Ka-bong! Man like that would never have a good night's sleep in my presence. Fortunately, there are far more good guys, but some of these Hollywood types are getting what they deserve. Hopefully some of the politicians will as well. But I agree with you, there should be some due process when an accusation is made. There should also be some protection for the one making the accusations. He said, she said... historically, she always loses.

Was reading about Matt Lauer . That happened/started in 2014 . Someone has a bone to pick. Why wait til now ? I think if its been going on this long its consensual.

This isn't a case of women overreacting to flirting or joking (which happens). It isn't him just calling her honey or sweetheart. It isn't one or both parties drunk or just getting carried away and then regretting it after (happens). This is hey baby, you don't want to play ball, there are a 100 women lined up to replace you. And other people around him knew all about it. That's why he got canned so quick, and he's not denying anything.
Now Garrison Keillor, who I used to enjoy, may be caught up in an overreaction. One person has complained. He explained his side... that his hand accidentally got under the back of her blouse while he was trying to give a comforting hug. He apologized at the time and in an email, and she apparently accepted the apology at the time. He says he's too old to fight it, and it is just like PBS to jump the gun and fire him without real cause. But who knows?

so evidently the "pot heads" in north Dakota NOW want to make "recreation use and growing of pot legal in the state. They got enough signatures to send to the state for them to write a proposed measure to be on next years ballot.

The state is still trying to figure out how to do the medical pot essence which passed last year.

I have been letting the laying hens forage out in the yard since there is no garden for them to destroy now. Today they all set off the screaming chicken alarm and kept it up. I went out to check, and couldn't see them! 14 big hens are hard to hide, but I finally saw them poking their heads out from under the redwood tree. They wouldn't come out and kept up the ruckus, so I checked behind the tree and a good sized hawk took off across the yard. Doesn't look like anyone got attacked, but boy were they spooked. I am not happy about having a resident hawk. Ever since Belle died, the yard is not getting patrolled as much. The quail have moved back in and the hawk goes after them. And my Seramas. Poor things are going to have to stay locked up. They are hating it.
