I have been letting the laying hens forage out in the yard since there is no garden for them to destroy now. Today they all set off the screaming chicken alarm and kept it up. I went out to check, and couldn't see them! 14 big hens are hard to hide, but I finally saw them poking their heads out from under the redwood tree. They wouldn't come out and kept up the ruckus, so I checked behind the tree and a good sized hawk took off across the yard.Doesn't look like anyone got attacked, but boy were they spooked. I am not happy about having a resident hawk. Ever since Belle died, the yard is not getting patrolled as much. The quail have moved back in and the hawk goes after them. And my Seramas. Poor things are going to have to stay locked up. They are hating it.
uffda maybe time for another LARGE dog ??
