There are tons of recipes. Roasting the bones is most important for flavor and some veggies. If it turns to jelly when cooled, you know you've got good stuff. Don't add salt until you are ready to eat it. Really, you don't make it because it tastes so great, it is supposed to be healthy stuff, so you drink it for that. DD should take it very slow if she starts drinking it. Give her guts time to adjust.
