Granny's gone and done it again

Wishing, DH still struggles a bit because he does not have self control. I can get a bag of m&ms and enjoy a few at a time for several days. He can’t delay them for an hour. He’s working on it, but this is why I hide the leftover snacks from girls night.

He has ADD and when his meds wear off he’s just starving, so most of his snack impulses are at night. That’s a big part of his struggle.
Me too, nights are difficult.

More downed tree pictures...

The last one is the top of a dead pine tree I asked hubby to cut down. But he has been busy cutting wood for the stove. All These pine trees we do not use for fires due to all the sap.

I just had the scariest afternoon. I put the pups outside in the front and went to the back to move strawberries from the porch to inside. I even left the door open. After TEN MINUTES the dogs were gone. I started hollering and whistling and stomping through the woods for an hour, in all directions. The river is up and Jewel hates water, so we hit water and cane back home. I helped DH do a few things and then heard barking. So we drove down to the dining hall, and the barking sounded like it was coming from the pool. Get to the pool and DH heard barking behind cabin 3. Then Jewel runs out of the woods. DH has to leave so I follow Jewel into the woods. I can hear howling, but I can’t cross the creek right there. Sarah meets me with bug spray and we head toward the yurts. She takes the road but Jewel dives down a trail so I followed her. I get to the creek again and holler, and Josie howls. Into the water I go. The creek is hip deep at this crossing, then it’s river backwater that’s knee deep. I finally found Josie on a little flotilla of sticks and debris right under the deer stand. I carried her out and went back to the first creek crossing. I stopped at waist deep (DH said it’s probably chest deep there with a swift current) and went back to the flooded road.

My only guess is either they were playing and she fell in or couldn’t push against the current and got swept away.

GUESS WHO ISNT EVER LEAVING MY SIGHT AGAIN.

My heart was racing just reading that. So glad you found her, but even more glad you didn't get swept away and wind up in big trouble. :hmm
