My heart was racing just reading that. So glad you found her, but even more glad you didn't get swept away and wind up in big trouble.

OMG ! I bet you were terrified ! Just slam right in the water w/ no thoughts of snakes or anything. Thank God it turned out ok. Did Jewel save her by letting you know where she was ?

I have this part of me that can handle any big stress without panicking. It kicked in. It’s weird because I have anxiety and panic attacks all the time. But when something truly scary happens I just get to work.

Straight in. I did think about snakes and just prayed they were in the other places. Jewel did lead me to her until we got to the water. She was swimming with me but Sarah called her back. Once we crossed the creek I think she could’ve touched most of the rest of it. When we first went into the woods she was no help, but once we got in the right direction she would run ahead and then turn around and stare at me til I caught up. It was not her normal “romp in the woods” behavior.

The last one is the top of a dead pine tree I asked hubby to cut down. But he has been busy cutting wood for the stove. All These pine trees we do not use for fires due to all the sap.

Cap, are most of the pine trees dead? Do you have the pine beetles there?
We have been burning some pine this year and and last. Hubs cleaned out the stove pipe this summer and it wasn't too bad. Neighbor's big tree was dead before they cut it down, so not much sap.

She knew animal instinct, & other forces. Thankful all is ok for you and yours.

I’ve been in and around this river and woods for around 10 years. That’s why I was not going over my waist in the creek. But if I had gotten swept away there’s plenty of stuff to grab hold of.

Edit: and Sarah was with me. Would not have done any of that alone.

The river was not up when Jasper ran off and he was full grown. I think it was either hogs or coyotes that got him. She never tried to lead us to him.

Josie saved herself by howling when I hollered for her.

boys cant find the cat food so they call and put the manager on the phone. She cant find it either. Been buying it there for 11 yrs .

Imagine the scene... #2 in his room grumbling about something. Mom! I can't find my socks! I go do the door and see what he's doing. Little boy is looking up at the ceiling, turning circles, and yells Mo-om! Made him jump when I told him his socks are certainly NOT up there.
Still took him about 3 minutes to find them... laying out in plain sight. Surprisingly, he's an intelligent kid. 16 now and still loses stuff. He spent 25 mins looking for his car keys. I found 'em in 3.

Imagine the scene... #2 in his room grumbling about something. Mom! I can't find my socks! I go do the door and see what he's doing. Little boy is looking up at the ceiling, turning circles, and yells Mo-om! Made him jump when I told him his socks are certainly NOT up there.
Still took him about 3 minutes to find them... laying out in plain sight. Surprisingly, he's an intelligent kid. 16 now and still loses stuff. He spent 25 mins looking for his car keys. I found 'em in 3.
